Charlotte Henderickx

Charlotte Henderickx

Charlotte kicked off her journey at Ghent University where she studied languages and literature. Having analysed storytelling for four years, she decided it was time to master the craft herself. She moved to Edinburgh to do an MA in Screenwriting at Screen Academy Scotland, where she learnt she mainly wanted to create narratives around mental health, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ issues, etc. Since then she has written and directed a number of short films, and a music video starring Lynn Ruth Miller, the world’s oldest comedian. Charlotte is excited to write for a different format and to work with the other female writers for us.

Oli Hewson

Oli Hewson

At an early age Oli started writing race reports for his school’s sailing team and articles for parents’ newsletters. He went on to study Linguistics with Creative Writing at Bangor University where he became the editor of an award-winning politics page for Seren, the university’s student newspaper. Here he began filling notebooks with fervent scrawls, attempting to retain in memory the moments he lived hitchhiking around Britain and Europe. His writing often relies on surrealism to reframe normality and he is often inspired by characters he has met on his travels.

Gregory Minton-Branfoot

Greg Minton-Branfoot

Greg is a new, Essex-based writer. His interest in the spoken-word format and its creative potential came from his love of radio at a young age, and later podcasts . For him, it’s intimacy with the listener, and engagement with their imagination is the key. Greg graduated with First Class Honours in Linguistics from Bangor University. His studies deepened his appreciation for the role of language, and its centrality to the human experience. His other interests include philosophy, history, and politics. Eager to develop his voice as a writer and improve his craft, Greg wants to work in different genres and experiment with style.

Calum Moore

Calum is a Glasgow-based Writer, Director and Theatre-Maker currently pursuing his Masters at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. In 2018, he graduated from Stirling University with a First-Class Honours in English Studies (specialising in Creative Writing). Here, he wrote his first full length verse play – The King’s Child; a tale of jealousy, regret, meddling servants and far too many potential fathers. Artistically, he now seeks to explore the boundaries of verse drama, and, as such, his writing favours an emphasis on rhythm and lyrical word play. Most recently, he has thoroughly enjoyed being a writer with Scottish Youth Theatre’s 2020 Stories project (2020-21).

Laurie Presswood

Laurie is an Edinburgh-based writer and comedy nerd. Her first introduction to scripted comedy came in the form of her big sister’s VHS copy of Trev & Simon’s Stupid Video, which gave her a taste for humour that was rapid-paced and chaotic. She studied Law and Spanish at the University of Edinburgh, during which time she was Editor in Chief of Edinburgh’s The Student and News Editor of The National Student. The three things in the world she finds funniest are misdirection, shouting, and people singing out of tune. She also performs, but not well.
